Grieving Window
I left the window open overnight,
to release my grieving. Throughout
the long night into morning’s first
break, dreams of dying, dreams of living,
dreams of mingling with the ancestors,
even dreams of being in the right place
at the wrong time, all of these coming
and going, going, and coming, through
my grieving window, until
the welcome dawn, as day
became waking night.
