Stone Skipping
I am a smooth flat
stone, polished
by the thousands of
hits and misses,
as I have skipped
across the water
of Baron’s Creek.
Those looking to marvel
at how I barely skim
the rippling surface,
will say it looks
simple and easy,
but they are wrong.
For unaware of the
complexity, the errant
observer will be blind
to the mathematical
and scientific formulae
that have made each
skipping appear effortless.
I am a smooth flat stone,
polished by the thousands
of hits and misses.
