The Constant Low Hum

The Constant Low Hum

Beneath the meanderings 

and wanderings of my journey, 

I hear the constant low hum 

of monks chanting from Tibetan 

Temples high in the Himalayan 

Range.  Asleep, awake, eyes 

open or shut, their ancient 

incantations gently guide 

me to where I am going. 

Their voices sing to me 

in a way I cannot explain, 

a rapturous melody contained 

within each breath given 

and each breath taken, 

as I bask in the constant 

low hum of the monks 

chanting.
