The Meek Shall Inherit 

Not knowing what Jake 

had planned when he arranged

the meet with Mack, but Jake had

to be hurting from those 38 slugs. 

It was always going to come to this, 

leave Maggie out of their goings on, 

or else, and else came when the 

bullets started flying with Maggie 

in the middle. 

The fact that Mack saved 

her life a night ago, 

by taking out the two shooters, 

and in the process hitting Jake, 

might not count for much. 

He pulled back the slide on his 38. 

Mack could see the three figures 

waiting for him. He muttered 

what in the holy hell, when he realized 

what he was seeing, 

There was Jake, Maggie, 

Louis too. The same sighting 

of Louis earlier.
